The origins of ants don't believe in fish

A few years ago when I was still a toddler on the spiritual path I threw my teddy out of the pram. In a metaphorical sense of course. It wasn’t the first time and it certainly was not nor will be the last.
I suppose that I expected life to somehow get easier as I welcomed Angels and other beings of light into my life, it seemed that the challenges just kept on coming at me and if anything the lessons seemed to be getting harder. Various aspects of my life weren’t taking shape the way I wanted them to at the time, with that beautiful gift called hindsight it’s easy now to understand why not, but at the time it’s hard to grasp and accept that so I did as I often do – dug in my heels, waved an angry fist at the sky and demanded to know what they were playing at.
Maybe I was just imagining everything I was experiencing, deluding myself that there were really angels out there and faeries in the garden, which is where I was at the time and maybe there really was nothing beyond this reality.
Ants don’t believe in fish, but they exist” was the patient and gentle response to my tantrum.
What on earth was that supposed to mean?
It was a statement far too ambiguous and random to have been produced by my own mind, although I admit I am capable taking some huge mental leaps to other tangents. As I continued working in the garden I acknowledged the comment in a grumpy kind of fashion and probably a ‘Whatever!’
It took a couple of days before I grasped the meaning behind their message and when the penny dropped it was so obvious. Ants and fish live in completely different realms and have no knowledge or experience of each other so why should they believe in one another; it doesn’t mean that they are not there though. Point taken.
Me and a friend were once discussing the mysteries of the universe and spiritual realms and she said that when an ant walks across our toe it has no concept of what the toe is, what it’s attached to or the world that the owner of the toe inhabits. In the scheme of the universe we are but ants and there is so much more beyond what we perceive around us.
